Volunteer Spotlight
The ReStore is blessed daily by volunteer Guy Sheets. Guy has been volunteering with Berkeley County Habitat for about 5 years on build sites and the ReStore. He has been serving 5 days a week (full-time) in the ReStore receiving room for over a year. Usually, he spends about 2-3 months on his property in Arizona. This year, he decided not to do so. We were certainly excited to hear that he would not be leaving us for such a long time! In cold or in the extreme heat…no complaints from Guy.
He has worked very diligently in increasing the amount of money collected through our scrap metal program and has increased the amount we receive to average over $1000 per month.
Don’t misunderstand, we love it that he works hard and increases income to the store, but most importantly, he’s been named our “Gentle Giant.” He loves hugs (and we love them from him), he assists with any “issues” that may arise, and shows genuine concern for everyone around him. We love Guy and continue to be blessed by all he is and who we are when we are around him! Thank you Guy for all you do!!
